LE CHOEUR DE LA
ROQUETTE gathers 6 young women who offer a new interpretation of
traditional and popular singings.
They twist texts and melodies inherited from the rich Mediterranean
patrimony : Occitan poets and troubadours twirl around their voices and
rhythms. Though rooted in the tradition of Occitan singings, LE CHOEUR
DE LA ROQUETTE appropriate themselves these musics venturing into
joyfull and festive harmonies.
Their influences : La Roquette, an area of Arles they are attached to,
the breath of the Mistral on the Rhone river, the shouts of the
stallholders on the market.
They feed their music with the sound of here and there life, and care
with them THE woman and her thousand stories.
