"The music is a gift of enchanted happiness served up by him and his extraordinary trio. Cheerful, twirling, waltzing, bubbling, purely acoustic...full of poetry...universal...makes your heart skip and your feet as well." - Bernard Lescure – LA DEPECHE DU MIDI

"Gilles Charles' guitar takes pride of place in the soundscape, Jean-Luc Amestoy's accordeon   is simply excellent, strong yet delicate with a pointillist touch, both are backed up by Marc Dechaumnthe's low-key bass. The mechanical sounds of the accordeon mix with the clink of the plectrum, the sound gently strokes our ears pushing us gently towards a new sensual and emotional dimension. The repertoire is as undefinable as ever,  it's almost as if these are instrumentals to which we invent the lyrics.
Each title evokes an intmate and personal scene; the first track could be the smile of our angry soul, another the cure for a bad mood, yet another a rebellious somersault of our repressed spirit, and the last one maybe a national salute with a finger in the nose and a smarmy face. For the intense stirring of emotions it creates, this music deserves more than just congratulations but a big sincere Thank You!" Mathieu Rosati - TRAD Magazine

"Jean-Luc Amestoy (accordion), Gilles Carles (guitar) and Marc Dechaumont (bass), this band sounds like an imposing, perfect orchestra , happy to play. Their infectious happiness throws the listener into a sound exultation. The recipe is simple : three instruments which hear and listen to each other, between waltz, swing, scents of musette, fragrances from Occitany… And popular musics, simply. A music which has absorbed history and time, as well as cultural shifts and meldings. A music full of feeling. A real delight" - Etienne Bours – MONDOMIX

"Jean-Luc, Gilles and a few pals... It's about an album, an album for a second family, because Jean-Luc Amestoy has his fingers in every pie when it comes to music in Toulouse. One day he's with Pradal, playing it Argentinian, the next he's gone all Andalusian with Sandoval, another he is off on the warpath with Les Motivés and, yet another, he's Kabylian with 100% Collègues. This is the album of a trio - accordion, guitar and tuba. Tree utensils - three cooks - ten fingers each. A tuba like a heartbeat. A hint of guitar, just a sprinkling rather than piled on by the ladle. Sobriety itself. This may all feel strangely Mediterranean, bathed by that sea of all excess. Well it ain't. The notes, the touch and the arrangements are delicate. Stitched by hand, you could say, like a pullover, but with fingers instead of a needle - and carefully does it with the finish. The simplest gear, but tailored by couturiers who are only too pleased not to have to change the world. Just to make it a bit better to live in. Popular music, but not hammered out. Like licking the sea without getting your face splashed. That's what this album is all about." - About the album Le Fil by Magyd Cherfi
